A Lifelong Love of Birth and Babies
My First Birth
Â
The first birth I attended was that of my little brother when I was just 11-years-old. My parents had him through surrogacy, and I was so honored that I got to be in the hospital room while his surrogate mother labored (like a CHAMP) and gave birth to him. Even at such a young age I understood pregnancy and birth as one of the most magical human experiences.
Â
When my little brother was a baby, I loved being my mom’s little helper. I learned how to change his diapers, swaddle him, give him bottles, and we even shared a bedroom for the first couple years of his life. He was my best little buddy!

A Knack for Childcare

I've always been a nurturer. I started babysitting when I was 13, and started working at our church’s daycare when I was 15. I worked at another church daycare when I went to university in Seattle, and volunteered with youth throughout my college career. After school, I worked as a nanny for 5 years with families throughout the Bay Area, and I found out I love working with parents!

My First Experience With Grief

When I was nine-years-old, my parents embarked on their first surrogacy journey. I had been the youngest of four my whole life, and I was finally going to be a big sister! Tragically, baby Roger was stillborn at 36 weeks, and it rocked my family. Witnessing my parents navigate their grief, processing my own grief, and seeing how our community showed up to support our family, gave me a deep empathy for people experiencing pregnancy or infant loss. It’s truly awful, and having trusted support people holding you through it is vital.

Hi, I'm Livvy!
Here you can read about my journey and my style of doula-ing.
Therapeutic
I’m not a therapist (although in another life I think I might’ve become one), but I’ve done quite a bit of therapy myself, and I can’t help but ask the questions and make the same gentle suggestions that benefitted me so much as a therapy patient! I believe you don’t have to be a therapist to provide therapeutic support. And of course, you are always free to take what works for you and leave what doesn’t.
Optimistic
I see the light in every situation. Not in a toxic-positivity way, but in a way that gently orients us to remember the good in everything. Whether it's enthusiastically rejoicing with you during your highs, or affirming your strengths during your lows, I'm there to believe in you (even when you struggle to believe in yourself).
Professional & Friendly
Our doula-client relationship is inherently formal and casual. We'll have a contract, you'll hire me to provide a service, sure. But I'm also going to be with you in some of your most raw, vulnerable moments! I walk this balance with intentionality.
Responsive
I like to match your energy. I have a plan for our work together, but depending on your needs and what you're hoping to get out of our partnership, that plan is incredibly flexible!
My Style of Care

Community Building
I enter every client relationship with a deep-seated heart for community development. I was a campus event coordinator at Seattle Pacific University from 2018 to 2020. With a community-centric approach, I bring a unique relational depth to my doula practice.
Full-Spectrum Doula Training
I completed my training in 2026 through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. They're a queer and Black-owned organization that focuses on Reproductive Justice and trauma-informed care. Read more about BADT's full-spectrum doula training program here.
Nanny Work
I worked with families throughout the SF Bay Area as an infant & toddler nanny for 5 years. I learned how to show up for families where they are, build trusting relationships, and meet their individual needs.
